How did Ryan Jenkins managed to elude authorities in Canada for so long? He had help, and British Columbia police have identified the woman. Although they have not revealed her ID, TMZ reported the woman to be Paulina Chmielecka.
That's according to the manager of the motel in Hope, British Columbia, where the fugitive was found dead on Sunday afternoon after he apparently killed himself.
Ryan and Paulina were engaged until he called it off a few months ago. Around that time he pursed Megan Hauserman on VH1's Megan Wants a Millionaire, became a finalist, lost, went to Las Vegas and met Jasmine Fiore, who he married days later.
Shown photos of Paulina Chmielecka, who was in a relationship with Ryan Jenkins until early this year, manager Kevin Walter says he's "100 percent sure" the girl who drove him to the Thunderbird Motel and paid for the room Thursday is her.
Walker said a woman checked in on Aug. 20, saying she needed a room for at least three days, maybe longer, and paid cash through Sunday. Outside, a man waited in a PT Cruiser with Alberta licence plates. Walker couldn’t remember the woman’s name and said RCMP have seized the slip of information she filled out for the hotel room. He could see there was a man in the vehicle but thought nothing of the fact he didn’t come in, he said.
TMZ is reporting that representatives for Paulina Chmielecka are saying that "There's no way it can be her because on Friday she was doing a fashion show and Saturday she was filming a cooking show." I'm not sure how being somewhere on Friday and Saturday have anything to do with Thursday.
TMZ also reports, however, that police have also said that Paulina Chmielecka is not the woman they are interested in. At any rate, anyone who helped Ryan Jenkins, who was on the run after allegedly murdering his ex-wife, Jasmine Fiore, could face charges of accessory to murder after the fact.
Jenkins, 32, was charged Aug. 20 in California with the murder of Fiore, 28, whose mutilated body was discovered in a trash receptacle on Aug. 15 in Buena Park, Calif., about 30 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles.
Hopefully the late model is resting in peace.
