Tibetan Mastiff is an ancient and rare type of dog. It is not however a wild kind but domesticated and it has a history of over 3,000 years.
The Tibetan Mastiff also known as Do-khyi meaning ‘home guard’, reflects its use as a home guard, much as the old English ban-dog also meaning tied dog was a dog tied outside the home as a guardian.
This is an ancient breed, descended from very early large Tibetan dogs. It is alleged that this early Tibetan dog is the ancestor to all Molossuses breeds but there is no proof of this and this theory is falling out of favor.
The woman who paid nearly $600,000 for this dog is called Mrs. Wang. Anyway, today, many people are in USA are searching about Tibetan Mastiff and I wondering the reason. Most probably, the main reason is that USA Today has an interesting report about spending abnormal amount of money after this kind of dogs in China.
